Luxury...

What does luxury mean to you, firstname?

Is it something that is present in your life? Or is it something you never give much thought to?

For the longest time I had a blind spot as far as luxury was concerned.

While I enjoyed the occasional 5* hotel with work, I had absolutely no interest in designer names and couldn’t relate to people for whom they were an important status symbol.

It was ignorance more than anything.

It was the unknown and totally unfamiliar in my world.

I guess I was like many people, thinking it was decadent, a bit frivolous, unnecessary and definitely not me. I never dreamed of being able to afford it one day...

The irony of life is beautiful at times.

I had just turned 40 when I got a call inviting me to join a newly formed team with a global luxury brand in Hamburg. We were to set up and launch the first ever online-boutique for their renowned luxury brand.

What I discovered was truly astonishing. Luxury incorporated everything I had always stood for throughout my life, and I had no idea.

I instantly fell in love with the products and found myself at one point wearing satin gloves to handle a pen studded with gems and diamonds and a price tag that would buy several high calibre cars!

I also absolutely loved being expected to provide high level service to our customers. I did this anyway, but here I was finally in the right place.

So, high quality products and high quality service. This was me. I took to this new environment like a fish to water.

Amazingly, looking back, unbeknownst to me my mind was being primed for high ticket sales.

I left the corporate world in 2017 and was not intimidated by high-ticket program prices, as I had been surrounded by high figures for 5 years by then.

Working with coaches to help them grow their online businesses, I quickly saw that they needed help with this.

Luxury is only available to a select number of people.

And this can be a problem for coaches, who have a “normal” background and whose biggest desire is to help everybody with their healing and personal development work.

And they simply feel awkward asking for money.

It takes a mindset shift to allow your cup to be overflowing first, so that you can later give abundantly to those around you, who maybe cannot yet afford your luxury service.

So, as a coach, you provide a quality service with your coaching program.

Do you see yourself as a luxury brand? Let me know!

You can (and I would even say you MUST) own your quality and acknowledge everything for which you have invested so much and worked so hard to achieve.

If you notice any kind of resistance or dismissive thoughts, do take a look at what is going on!

WIthout judgement!

With an open mind!

Be curious, like a detective looking for clues, trying to discover what is going on. No judging, just fact-finding!

I believe that if we’re honest, we all enjoy a bit of luxury.

The question is to what extent are we willing to receive?

Are you truly ready to receive?

Leading by example, providing luxury service and commanding a luxury price are simple enough! We just need to be ready for it, be brave and know how!

Are you ready?
